During the month of September, Spruce Ridge School won a huge prize basket from Youth Safety Education Day. (The Fitness and Mental Health Prize Package, valued at over $1000!!!)
A decision wade made to raffle off the prizes in the basket in support of the United Way. There were a number of awesome prizes, including gift certificates for restaurants, free hotel stays, gift cards from stores, wireless headphones, duffel bags, clothing, and even a one-year subscription to the Calm app.
The response from our school community was amazing. Tickets went on sale October 4th. When the draws were made on October 15th, we totaled up the ticket sales and donations. We were excited to present a cheque to the Estevan United Way for $3001! In addition to money, our school also provided entertainment at the annual Telethon. Students in both Kindergarten classes, Grade 4A, Grade 5A, Grade 3/5B and our Choir performed virtually to help the United Way reach their goal.
Spruce Ridge School is so proud to be able to help support our community. Our contributions helped the United Way reach their goal of $345,000 this year!
