One School, One Book January 2025

BOOK SUMMARY:

A young mouse named Ralph is thrown into a world of excitement when a boy and his shiny toy motorcycle check in to the Mountain View Inn. When the ever-curious Ralph spots Keith's red toy motorcycle, he vows to ride it.

So when Keith leaves the bike unattended in his room one day, Ralph makes his move. But with all this freedom (and speed!) come a lot of obstacles. Whether dodging a rowdy terrier or keeping his nosy cousins away from his new wheels, Ralph has a lot going on! And with a pal like Keith always looking out for him, there's nothing this little mouse can't handle.

Activities & Contests:

Kickoff assembly

Friday, January 10th: There will be an assembly to kick off our One School One Book event. The assembly will help students understand what will be happening in the month ahead and get them interested in reading the book.

Daily trivia questions

Each day a trivia question will be shared in the announcements. Student answers should be placed in the draw buckets at the library desk by 11:00 am. Draws for prizes will be made each day. (The answer must be correct to win.)

Design your own motorcycle contest

Students will be invited to design their own motorcycle by Friday, January 24th. (They will draw and write about it.) One winner will be selected from each classroom, and they will win a prize!

Dress up like a character

On Jan. 17th dress like Ralph, Keith, Keith’s mom and dad, or any other character!

Celebration Thurs, January 30th

As a final celebration when the book is done, we are going to have a celebration party at the school with mouse- and motorcycle-themed games and activities. Bring your parents for some free family fun! There will be draws for prizes!
