Teacher Sanction

Good morning parents and guardians,

As you have likely heard, teachers across Saskatchewan are participating in work-to-rule sanctions. This means that teachers are withdrawing all voluntary services and extra-curricular services until further notice. Teachers will provide services between the hours of 8:45-11:50 and 12:40-3:45 only.

Noon-hour supervision to ensure student safety will be provided by parent volunteers.

We have reviewed the work-to-rule information from the STF and have made the following decisions regarding scheduled events in the month of June:

CANCELLED:

  • The Grades 6-8 Band concert scheduled for June 10 has been cancelled.
  • Kindergarten Graduation ceremonies on June 12th & 13th have been cancelled. (Mrs. Ross will send home certificates, pictures, and videos at the end of the year.)
  • The Talent Show scheduled for June 25th has been cancelled.
  • Canteen and milk sales have been cancelled.

PROCEEDING AS SCHEDULED:

  • The EYES workshops on June 13th will proceed as scheduled.
  • The Champions track meet in Weyburn on June 18th will continue (start and end times have been adjusted, and noon supervision arrangements made.)
  • The Souris Valley Theater workshops on June 19th will proceed as scheduled.
  • The 4A field trip on June 19th to the Souris Valley Museum will proceed as scheduled.
  • The 4B/5B field trip on June 20th to the Estevan Art Gallery and Museum will proceed as scheduled.
  • The Fire Truck will spray students on June 21st at 2:30 pm as scheduled.
  • We have adjusted swim times on June 26th so that no groups will be swimming or travelling over the lunch hour.

WILL PROCEED IF ENOUGH PARENT VOLUNTEERS ARE FOUND:

  • The 3A and 3B field trip to Oungre on June 24th will continue as long as there are enough parents to supervise the children over the lunch hour.
  • The 4A trip to the Estevan Art Gallery and Museum and the Royal Heights Splash park on June 24th will continue as long as there are enough parents to supervise the children over the lunch hour.
  • The Grade 8 Graduation ceremony on June 24th will continue as long as there are parents willing to organize and run the event. (STF members are not allowed to plan, participate in, or facilitate the ceremonies.)

If you are able to volunteer for noon supervision at school, please email Mrs. Haberstock.

If you are able to volunteer for lunch supervision during the 3A/3B or 4A field trips, please contact the classroom teacher.

If you are willing to organize and run Grade 8 Graduation, please email Mrs. Haberstock.

Thank you!

Mrs. Haberstock and Mrs. Eskra
